It is November - or as I like to call it "mashed potato month", directly followed by "eggnog month" and right after "pumpkin spice everything month". November is the month to give thanks, to spend time with family, to go apple picking - but historically speaking it was not the ideal month to sell your home. But I am here to tell you times have changed! The old school mentality that says "you cannot sell your home between Halloween and the New Year" are as outdated as the Y2K scare. Here is why?

  1. Motivation - the world we live in has changed more than half of the home buying market is not married so the idea that parents need to wait until the summer to buy is a moot point.
  2.  Less Competition - because most sellers still think that November is not the time to sell. You will have less competition.
  3. Tax Benefits - A lot of buyers are looking for end of year tax breaks. Closing on a house in November is ideal for those home buyers.
